Charles B. Black, son of Jonathan B. Black and Deborah (Van Dorn) Black, was born at Pella, Iowa, October 8, 1858. Died at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. W. Williams in Reasnor, March 1, 1917. In early childhood he came with his parents to Jasper County where he has since resided except for few years spent in Kansas. During his last illness he was at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. W. Williams, and relatives and friends did all they could to relieve and comfort him. He often expressed his appreciation of their kindness. Two brothers and three sisters as well as both parents preceeded him to the other world and he leaves to mourn his loss two sisters, Mrs. H. W. Williams of Reasnor and Mrs. D. L. Moore of Albion. Funeral services were held at the Reasnor M. E. Church conducted by F. A. Moore. Interment at Hewitt Cemetery. ~ Newspaper unknown.
