Funeral to be held tomorrow for Valley native Anna Rankin
Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Westcliffe for life-long resident Anna Rankin. Mrs. Rankin died at home on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1994 following a brief illness. She was 85. She was born April 4, 1909 in Westcliffe to Gustav A. and Dorathea Ottilia (Knuth) Lange. Mrs. Rankin was a very talented homemaker. She enjoyed baking and was the recipient of numerous awards at county fairs. She loved flowers and raised both indoor and outdoor plants. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Westcliffe and was active in the Lutheran Womens' Missionary League and the Priscilla Club of Hope Lutheran Church. She married Marvin Rankin in the Hope Lutheran Church on November 19, 1930. He survives, as do two sons: Norman (and wife, Sharon) Rankin of Arvada; and Warren (and wife, Deanna) Rankin of Lakewood. Four grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Rankin was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, Oct 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Cruikshank officiating. Interment will follow at the Hope Lutheran Cemetery south of Westcliffe. Wilson Funeral Home of Canon City is handling arrangements.
