Mrs. Mary Hunter Brown Linker, age 82, of Mint Hill died Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linker will be held Friday, December 5, 1997, at 11 a.m. at Arlington Baptist Church with The Reverend Steve Gandy and The Reverend Bruce Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel.

Mrs. Linker was born October 4, 1915, in Matthews, NC, a daughter of the late Moffett Brown and Myrtle Sloan Brown. She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Hunter Linker, and a brother, James Brown.

Mrs. Linker was a member of Arlington Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and a loving and caring person as well as a peace maker.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Walter Lee Linker; daughters, Margaret Cochrane and husband, Richard, Ruth Sasser and husband, Danny, Mary Lee Hudspeth and husband, Harold, and Edna Ann Starnes and husband, Jerry, all of Mint Hill; brothers, Hugh Brown of Jacksonville, NC, and Bobby Query of Indian Trail, NC; sisters, Benton Matthews of Matthews, Helen Beachum of Jacksonville, NC, Doris Lineberger Picard of Mt. Holly, NC, and Nancy McLaughlin of Garden City, SC; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
