Maurice B. Meyers, 80, of 41 Elwood Drive, a Navy veteran of World War II, died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center.

He founded Meyers Bros. Certified Public Accountants in 1948 and retired in 1991. He also taught at Western New England College and was a former chairman of the Springfield Parks Commission.
Born in Springfield, he was a graduate of Northeastern University. He was a member and past president of Kodimoh Synagogues well as the Independent City of Homes Association. He was past president of the Hebrew Day School, now Heritage Academy; a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Indian Orchard Lodge of Masons, Springfield Jewish Community Center, Jewish Nursing Home of Western Massachusetts, and the Greater Springfield Freedman Post 26 of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States.
He leaves his wife, the former Theresa Schreiber; a son, Andrew of Kew Gardens, N.Y.; a daughter, Reva Glushien of Springfield; two brothers, Benjamin of Longmeadow and Raymond of Springfield; three sisters, Sarah Weber of Longmeadow, Ida Garber of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Sylvia Kaplan of Margate, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be this afternoon at Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel, with burial in City of Homes Cemetery , with a memorial week Sunday through Thursday evenings at 41 Elwood Drive.
