Mattie was the daughter of William R and Nancy L Townsend Chunn. There is a question of her birthdate because it is listed as 1871 on death certificate, as 1875 on 1880 U.S. Census, as 1873 on 1900 census and 1874 on her fathers Civil War Pension records. She married 4 March 1890 James Robert Blackburn(he always went by Robert). They had six children: Martha Blackburn (Arthur Darby), William Harrison(1.Grace Herron 2. Nancy Britton) Blackburn, Rufus Blackburn, Marie Blackburn (1st Ralph Moore, 2nd Alonzo Agnew and 3rd Earl Ray Obenchain), Robert J. Blackburn, and George (Jossie Chaney) Blackburn. Mattie married 2nd Samuel Edward McIntosh and they had one son, Dee Edward McIntosh. Obit from Terre Haute Tribune for Tuesday May 10, 1955. Mrs. Mattie McIntosh Clinton, Ind., May 10 -(Special)- Mrs. Mattie McIntosh, 84 years old, of 1000 North Thirteenth Street, died Monday at her home. She is survived by two sons, Dee McIntosh and George Blackburn, both of Clinton; a step-son, Wesley Blackburn; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Agnew of Wheatfield, Ind., and several grandchildren. The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home.
