She met and married her husband, Bill, in 1935, and they moved to Annapolis in 1938. They joined the College Avenue (Heritage) Baptist Church in 1945, where they were active for many years. Mrs. Martin retired from Hillcrest Memorial Garens.
She was preceded in death by her husbanb, William "Bill" J. Martin, and a grandson, Reuben Martin.
She is survived by children and their spouses, Ruth Martin Knight and her husband, Capt. James Curtis D. Knight, Sr., U.S. Navy (Ret.), Jane Martin Fuqua and her husband, Capt. James R. Fuqua, Jr., U.S. Navy (Ret.), William Judson Martin, Jr., & James Henry Martin and his wife, Bonnie Louise Martin; grandchildren, Kathy Powell, Ruth Ann Clarke, Curtis Knight, Jr., Laura Bet Meinster, Jane Elyce Glasgow, James R. Fuqua, Jr., Sarah N. Martin, Lambert Martin, Alina M. Graham, & Hilary Ann Martin; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
