Norman Woodlee Bowers, 53, a resident of the Weyers Cave area, died in his sleep early this morning (8 Feb, 1966) at the home of Walter N. McCary, where he lived.

A son of Norman W. Bowers and the late Clara (Craun) Bowers, he was born on April 1, 1912 and spent most of his life in Augusta County. He was He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Union Chapel EUB Church.

Mr. Bowers was employed by Schreckhise Brothers and was a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his father, he is survived by three sisters: two brothers, Paul Bowers of Staunton and Fred Bowers; and his foster-father, Walter N. McCary of Mt. Sidney.

Funeral services will held at 11 a. m. Friday in the Middle River Church of the Brethren conducted by the Rev. Bruce Pfeiffer and the Rev. Fred A. Driver. Burial will in the church cemetery.

The body now rests at the Koontz and Lindsey Funeral Chapel at Weyers Cave where members of the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:30 until 8:30.

Mr. Bowers' body will be taken to the church an hour prior to the services. Relatives will meet at the McCary residence for a brief service prior to leaving for the church.
