Charles Davidson Scarbourough, better known as just "Dave" to friends & relatives, died Sunday Jan. 31, 1999, in Paris, at the age of 72.

Dave was born in Springville on Aug. 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Wilbur Henry Scarborough and Nellie Vera Allen Scarbourough. He was married July 7, 1983, to the former Leah K. Hill, who survives.

He was self employed in construction work and was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Woodmen of the World.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Linda Cherry and husband Joe and Gail Crouch and husband James, all of Paris; a stepdaughter Leah Smith of Paris; a stepson, Dennis Kuhn of Paris; seven grandchildren, Marsha Webb, Tara Hargrove, Joe & Suzie Cherry and Amanda, Angie & Christina Crouch; and seven great-grandchildren.

He also leaves two sisters, Nell McBride and Blyrna Scarborough, both of Paris; and a brother, Lewis Scarborough of Florida.

Another sister Frances Wright, also preceded him in death.

Services were held at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Rosanne Fields officiated the service.

Named as pallbearers were Jack Speed, Mel Mathis, Louis Landrum, Carl Wright, Mike Sweeney and Kenneth McDaniel.
