Mr. Church lived in Highland Falls, N.Y., with his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen (O'Dell) Church. In 1995, he moved to Sunapee to be near his stepdaughter, Dona Chiarella, and her family.
Mr. Church served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1949. He later became the chief of police for Highland Falls, N.Y.
He was an active member of the Masons in Highland Falls and later in New Hampshire. Cars, motorcycles and children always brought a smile to his face. He loved music, fresh picked berries and the family dogs.
Mr. Church was predeceased by his wife, Mary.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Dona (O'Dell) Chiarella and her husband, John, of Sunapee; four grandchildren and their families, including four great-grandchildren and one-great-great-grandson; his sister-in-law, Maude (O'Dell) Bates in New York and her two sons and their families; as well as several siblings and their families.
