Mr. Sheppard was born in Washington County the son of the late Henry Edwin Sheppard and the late Harriett Frances Sheppard. He was retired for the American Industrial Clay Company as transportation director. Mr. Sheppard was an active member of the Jackson's Baptist where he served as a deacon and as church song leader. He was an avid collector of antique farm memorabilia. His wife Mattie Johnson Sheppard and his sister Eleanor Sheppard predecease him.
Survivors are his children, Cecilia Sheppard, Russell Sheppard (Kathy) and Trevor Sheppard (Ramona) all of Sandersville, grandchildren, Anna Sheppard Deal (Chris), Ross Sheppard, Justin Sheppard, Lauren Sheppard, and Katie Sheppard, step children, Roger Thompkins of Colorado and Sharon Denise Jamison of Tennille and step grandchildren Crystal Jamison, Justin Jamison and Joshua Jamison.
