Eva (Cragun) Heiner's book on the Cragun & Ellis family (p.38-39) tells that Rebecca (Cragun) Beaman and her husband,
Aaron, seem to have been in Iowa with the Mormon group. However, the two sons evidently returned to Indiana. This was
indicated in a letter written 4 Jan 1909 from Chicago, Ill., by Dr. Wiley Moroni Cragun, who was studying medicine, and
visited Elisha Beaman (son of Rebecca) who was living in the country seven miles from Lebanon, Ind. The letter said: "This
man is seventy-two years old and is one of the party who turned back when they reached Council Bluffs, Iowa."
