Lavinna M. Stallsmith, 87, of Parsons, died at 8:40 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville, where she had resided the past year.

She was born August 17, 1923, at Altoona to Richard and Lydia (Roller) Gentry. The family moved to Bartlesville, where she graduated from high school. Later she moved with her family to Parsons.

On June 25, 1943 she married William R. "Bill" Stallsmith, at Oswego. Mr. Stallsmith preceded her in death on June 3, 2009.

Mrs. Stallsmith had worked at several places in Parsons, including the Kress Store, Jones Brothers Grocery Store and in later years, a local convenient store.

Survivors include three sisters, Myrtle Marrs, of Topeka; Dollie Magner, of Topeka; Tillie Cruse, of Parsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Earley.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
