Orpha Darlene Merz Bright, 81, of Jamestown died Saturday at Oak Valley Hospital, Oakdale.
Mrs. Bright was a native of Cooperstown and lived in Jamestown 54 years. She was a homemaker, and was a member the Stanislaus Historical Society, Tuolumne Historical Society, Order of the Eastern Star-Summit Chapter, Knights Ferry Garden Club, Native Daughters of the Golden West-Oakdale Parlor, Knights Ferry Community Club, Knights Ferry History & Museum Associates and the Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bright of Jamestown; children, Darlene Cross of Oakdale and Beverly Noe of Knights Ferry; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Community United Methodist Church, Oakdale, with burial at Knights Ferry Cemetery. No visitation. Oakdale Memorial Chapel, Oakdale, in charge of arrangements."
