Funeral services were conducted at the Bethany Lutheran Church at Blue Grass for Hiram Brown who suffered a fatal heart attack at his home on August 15, 1971. Rev. Fred H Carlson, pastor, officiated with burial in the Verndale Green Lawn cemetery.
Hiram Brown was born to Henry and Ida May Brown on December 6, 1912 in Todd County. He was married to Edna Denny at Sebeka MN on March 3, 1936. Two sons were born to this union: Henry and Bruce.
Besides his wife, two sons and eight grandchildren, survivors include brothers and sisters: Albert of Mountain Iron MN; Joe of Moorhead MN; Edward of Olympia WA: Floyd of Edwards, MO; Myrtle (Mrs Sylvester Ward) of Wadena MN; Alice (Mrs Amos Jobe) of Deer Creek MN; Margaret (Mrs Herman Hassa) of Wadena; Ida (Mrs Floyd Harper) of Wadena; Emerson of Pollock Pines CA; Gladys (Mrs Dusche Burke) of Salem OR; Walter of Bemidji MN; Arnold of Hibbing MN and one aunt Bell Lingor of Effie Mn.
