Richard "Dick" H. Boose, age 83 years of Erie, MI, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in his home. Born August 28, 1927 in Erie, MI, he was the son of Howard and Gladys (Johnson) Boose. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he married Mary A. Okapal on May 10, 1952 in Rossford, OH. He was owner of Dick's Drywall for 30 years. Dick then worked for Cousino Construction and G&K Construction for 10 years. He was a member of the V.F.W., 3925 Erie Post, Ottawa Lake Sportsman's Club, Knight of Columbus, Council 7413, and of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie where he was an usher. Dick also was a long time little league coach.
Surviving are his loving wife, Mary. Children, Richard (Sue) Boose, Marcia (Dan) Rutherford, William Boose and Bonnie Smith. Brother, Phillip (Dee) Boose, 8 grandchildren, Spencer, Paula, Billie, Ranae, Rikki, Kelsey, Shelby and Colton and 2 great grandsons, Troy and Brett. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Ruth Gartin, granddaughter, Rachel Rutherford, Son in law, Jim Smith and beloved aunt, Ivah Listermann.
Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI.
