Edmond Barnett married Victoria Vastine "Vashti" Boyd about 1879. They had five children. After Vashti died, he married Florence Elizabeth Carney on 23 November 1892. He married Mary Johnson 19 February 1919 in Lawrence County.

Wife Dies Shortly after Husband's Death
McComb, Miss – January 27 –

Edmond Volney Barnett, 89 years old, died Thursday afternoon at his home in Jayess, Miss, and Friday morning his wife, Mrs Mary Barnett, 55, died at the hospital in Tylertown.

Mr Barnett was born June 17, 1855, at Holmesville and Mrs Barnett was born June 17, 1890, in Lawrence County, Miss. A joint funeral will be held at 2:30 this afternoon at the Tilton Methodist Church, of which they were members. Interment will be in Tilton Cemetery.

Survivors are three sons, including Jon Barnett of Pascagoula and Lester Barnett of Creole; a daughter; 13 children of Mr Barnett by a previous marriage; 45 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren.
