In the original handwritten Falmouth Town Records, in the record of her parental family she is recorded as Marcy at birth. In the separate family group of their respective deaths in the original Falmouth records, next to the recorded death of her mother Bethiah: "Marcy Robinson Departed this Life the fifth Day of March 1739/40."

Irrespective of whether the date of her death (5th) is correct in the original record or on the 4th as inscribed on her 1904 extant gravestone, on the day Mercy died she was 22 years old, and Ætatis (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of her Age) 23, not 22 as inscribed on her gravestone.
