Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - January 31, 1993. Jesse Wardle Cleverly, age 94, died January 29, 1993 in Bountiful. Born June 11, 1898 in Woods Cross, a son of Frederick and Elizabeth Wardle Cleverly. Married Minnie Jarrett Booth on March 20, 1919 in Farmington; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member of the LDS Church. Served with his wife in the California Mission in the Beaumont, Banning and Palm Springs areas. Was president of the Banning Branch, where he supervised the building of a chapel. Active in farming, building and business. Lifetime resident of Bountiful.

Survived by son and daughter: Donald and wife, Verna Cleverly, Bountiful; Mrs. John (Betty) Brown, Kennedale, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Clyde and wife Dicie Cleverly, Salt Lake.

Preceded in death by a son, Jesse Gerald, and six brothers and sisters. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at South Davis Community Hospital for their loving care. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 12 noon, Orchard 12th Ward, 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main St. and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery, under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
