Dr. Brookshire has been twice married. He married first, February 9, Miss Nellie Mallory, a young lady of refinement and culture. She passed to the life beyond July 9, 1906, at her death leaving one daughter, Josephine Brookshire. The Doctor married for his second wife Mrs. Maria (Clary) Chenoweth, who waa born in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Clary, and they are the parents of two children. namely, William Henry and Agnes.
