JANE ELIZABETH RAINS
Jane Elizabeth Boyd was born in Warren County, Ohio, October 7, 1836, and died a the home of her son, Frank Rains, in Garfield, Kansas August 3, 1925, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 27 days. At the age of two years, she moved with her parents to Illinois, later to Iowa.
On Dec. 15, 1859, she was united in marriage to F.M. Rains, who preceded her in death in 1907. To this union were born six children, four of whom remain to mourn her loss. They are John Rains of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Allie Miller of LaFountain, Kansas, and Frank and Robert Rains of Garfield.
Besides these, there are eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Her Christian life was more in living than in professing. One of her family said they had never known her to speak an angry word.
Grandma will be greatly missed in the home, where she has spent many years, always helping where she could, also by the neighbors whose company she always enjoyed.
Grandma's life was such that made other lives happier with whom she came in contact. Although she had lived to a ripe old age, she was always pleasant and never complained with her failing health.
The News, with the many friends of the community, extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives
