Charles E. Donahue 'Ed' Mr. Donahue, 77, of Pineville, NC, died May 30, 2007 at home. He was born on February 10, 1930 in Monroe, NC, a son of the late James and Verla Mullis Donahue. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Donahue, and brothers, Bill and Max Donahue. He was retired from Lance Corporation after 45 years of dedicated service. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Navy on the U.S.S. Iowa. Ed was a faithful 32nd Mason and Shriner. He loved to cook and was an avid gardener. Survivors include his loving wife, Martha Satterfield Donahue, step-sons, Jackie Adkins and wife, Audrey, of Charlotte and Tim Adkins of Pineville; sister-in-law Rita Satterfield of Pineville; brother, Earl Donahue and wife Helen, of Matthews, NC, sister, Betty Walters and husband, Steve, of Flat Rock, NC; step-daughters, Rosemary Stephens and husband Ted of Sharon, SC, Claudia Donahue of Pompano Beach, FL, Cynthia Jolly and husband, Harvey, of Charlotte and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Pineville Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte. Burial will follow at Crown Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of service at the funeral home. A special thank you to his grandson, Mike Wiles for his friendship and dedication. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice. Arrangements by McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel.


Ed's maternal grandparents were Charles and Cornelia Benton Mullis. Great grandparents were Dwight and Elmire Secrest Benton.
