Samuel is my great grandfather, research is ongoing .

When Samuel B. Eagens was born in 1850 in Pennsylvania, his father, Benjamin, was 41 and his mother, Maryann Wagner was 25.

Samuel would marry Roseann Smith 17 Dec 1877 in Montgomery County, PA. They had four children during their marriage. He died sometime after 1895 it is assumed because there are no records after that year and no burial has been found.

In the 1880 US census he was living with wife Roseann in Norristown, Montgomery County, PA.

In 1882 he was at the same address as his brothers; Benjamin, Edward, sister Hester and his mother Mary A., in Green, Lafayette, Bridgeport, Montgomery County, PA.

In 1883 he was in prison for assault committed in Dec 1883 in York, PA. It is unknown for how long he was incarcerated. (The York Daily, Thursday, 27 Dec 1883, page 1).

By 1900 the US Census shows Roseann as a widow. She and the children are now living with her

brother-in-law, George Eagens in Upper Merion, Montgomery County, PA.

But he shows up in city directories as living in Philadelphia in 1890 and 1891. Then shows up again in Norristown in 1894 working as a laborer.1895 he is living in Ross, Allegheny County.

By 1913 directories show his wife again as widowed in Youngstown, Ohio and again in 1926 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio where she settles.
