This gentleman's name is George W Sheets. He was born in 1813 in Virginia to Andrew and Catherine Sensebough Sheets. He married Elizabeth Sellars in Marion County, Indiana on 20 Dec 1832. He moved to Story County, Iowa sometime between 1850 and 1860. I dont have a death date for him quite yet. He enlisted with Co D 4th Iowa Cavalry on 13 Jan 1864 and was mustered out of the Union Army with the entire regiment on 8 Aug 1865 in Atlanta, GA. Elizabeth and him had 3 sons and 4 daughters and all of them resided in Iowa as far as I can tell so far.
thanks,
Brent Smith
