Delbert Myrle Keeley, 86, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 1997, at Jerseyville Health Care Center in Jerseyville.

Born June 7, 1911, near Jerseyville, he was the son of the late Meade D. and Margaret "Alice" Short Keeley.

The Greene County farmer married the former Norma L. Gernigin March 27, 1937, in Kane. She survives.

Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Noel M. and Joyce Keeley of Carrollton; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Keeley of Fieldon; two grandsons, S.Sgt. David E, Keely and Mark Edward Keeley; two step-grandsons, Robert L. Thompson Jr. and James Ray Thompson; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Keeley, Kristen and Kelly Thompson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Neil E. Keeley; two brothers, Kent and Kermit Keeley; and a sister, Lois Schmidt.

Mr. Keeley was a graduate of the Carrollton High School Class of 1929 and a member of the Greene County Farm Bureau.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Duane Davis will officiate.

Burial will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
