Ignatz Stuhlmueller was born in Barmbeck, Schleswig-Holstein Germany. He came over at the age of 22 departing Hamburg on May 8, 1881 on the Vandalia. He came on his own and was listed as a Tischler (carpenter). He married Veronica Oker in 1882 and they had ten children - Joseph George, William John, Emma, Edward Philip, Albert H, Amelia, Dr. Clifford, Ferdinand Ignatius, Adolph and Martha R. He tripped on a stone of the sidewalk at this son's house and fractured his hip. With his age, he never recovered.
