Shirley Ann, daughter of William P. and Emma Knoldler Braun, died at Municipal Hospital of acute myocarditis caused by bulbar polio. She'd been diagnosed with polio 7 days prior, the myocarditis 1 day prior. Her death was the second polio death of 1944 in Pittsburgh.
