Lewis H Hunt, 48, 3104 6th St NE, who farmed west of Portage most of his adult life, died early Tuesday en route to a local hospital after he was stricken at home.
Hunt was born in Great Falls and attended schools here. He farmed with his parents in the Portage area and later on his own. He served two years in the Navy during World War II, much of it in the Panama area. He married Barbara Schmitz in 1956.
Hunt was a member of the Montana Farm Bureau, Montana Grain Growers Association, Elks Lodge and First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by the widow; son, Rodney, and daughter, Sherri, both at home; his mother, Mrs Joe (Lois) Hunt, Great Falls; sister, Mrs James (Vera) Salinas, Billings; and brother, Lamar Hunt, Alamo, Calif.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 am at Croxford and Sons Chapel and Rosary Thursday at 7 pm there. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Memorials to the Cascade County Heart Fund are preferred by the family.
