She was a graduate of Taylor High School, class of 1949. She moved to Austin in 1955 where she worked at E.M. Scarbrough Department store. She married James L. Turner in 1961. From 1966-1996 she operated a day care service in her home.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Alfred Boudny and sisters, Patricia Bryan, Dorothy Drozd, Gene Boudny and Barbara Boudny.
She is survived by sisters, Ruth Boudny, Alice Boudny and Helen Fremin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children. She leaves behind many friends as well as the many children she cared for through the years.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1pm on Sunday, June 4th at Condra funeral home in Taylor. Internment will be at Memorial Hill Park cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for her during her battle with cancer and the hospice workers who gave her comfort.
