Herbert F. Maddocks, 66, died Saturday morning at the home of his son, Everett Maddocks in Searsport, where he had made his home for several years.
He was born in Swanville, Maine, March 18, 1879, a son of Herbert and Rose (Curtis) Maddocks. For 30 years he was in the employ of the A.E. Chase company, Brooks. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias of Brooks.
Besides his son, Everett, who is manager of the Searsport First National store, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Gay of Weeks Mills; a sister and brother, Mrs. Louis Murphy of Monroe and Ernest Maddocks of Swanville.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30pm at the Brooks Congregational church with the Rev. Thomas H. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery in Brooks.
