Services for Fern Marie Dodds, 83, of Minneapolis, Minn., a former Des Moines resident who died of cancer Friday in Minneapolis, will be today in Minneapolis. Burial will be the the Fort Snelling National Cemetery there. Mrs. Dodds was born at Lenox and lived in Des Moines 51 years. She lived in Tempe, Ariz., for 10 years before moving to Minneapolis four years ago. A graduate of the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, she volunteered for nursing duty during World War I. She served at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital before returning to Des Moines and served as assistant principal at the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. She was a member of Chapter 89 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Edwin C., a son, Robert of Minneapolis; a daughter, Helen E. Dick of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Nell Steffarud and Lucille Munger; both of Des Moines, and three grandchildren.
