HOUSTON - Bobby Joe Allen, Sr., 69, died May 7, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Chickasaw County, Miss.to Henry Allen and Jessie L. Moore Allen. He attended Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a retired supervisor from the furniture industry.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Brock officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Tallant Allen of Houston; three sons, Bobby Joe "Tweety" (Gail) Allen Jr., Randy (Vickie) Allen and Charles "Boo" (Kim) Allen all of Houston; 3 step-daughters, Reba (Paul) Ward of Big Creek, Ala, Kay (Kevin) Davis of Houston and Karen (Dallas) Gorrell of Houston; two step-sons, Ricky (Lori) Parker of Pontotoc, Eddy Parker of Munsford, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother; three brothers, Charles Allen, Sterling Allen and Tee Clark; one sister, Billie Cook.
Pallbearers will be Josh Allen, Patrick Marion, Tyler Parker, Bradley Allen, Bradley Ward, and Nathan Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Davis, Wesley Parker, Luke Gorrell and Justin Allen.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
