Dies at Tampa, Florida
Funeral services for Matt G. Reeves who died De.c 19, were held Dec. 22 at the B. Marion Reed Funeral Home at Tampa, Fla. The Rev. Paul Wagner, pastor of Palma Ceia Methodist church (sic) officiated. Interment was in Myrtle Hill cemetery (sic). Hillsborough Lodge No. 25, AF & AM conducted Masonic graveside services. Egypt Temple Shrine honor patrol served as honor guard.
Mr. Reeves fell at his home at 575 Marmora Ave. Tampa, Dec. 12 and complications resulted in his death.
He was president of Matt G. Reeves & Sons, Inc., the only steel fence weaving outfit in the southeast, and chairman of the board of the Reeves Investment Co., Inc., and the Reeves Village, Inc.
A native of Spencer, Ia., he had lived in Tampa since 1924. He was a member of Hillsboro Lodge No. 25 AF&AM, the Tampa Scottish Rite Bodies, Egypt Temple Shrine, the University Club, Jesters and Elks Lodge No 708.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rhea F. Reeves, a son, Granville F. Reeves, both of Tampa; a brother, Frank Reeves, Gothenburg, Nebr.; four sisters, Mrs. Howard Mansfield, Boise, Ida., Mrs. Clarence Ammons, Nampa, Ida.; Mrs. Sadie Weik, Norfolk, Nebr.; and Mrs. Jenny Jones, Farnam Nebr.; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Reeves was in the drug business in Fairfield in the early 1900s.
