Salisbury Grieved Over the Death of Bright Daughter of the Hon. and Mrs. T. F. Kluttz
Special to the Observer.
Salisbury, March 28.--Last night about 9 o'clock Mr. C. B. Barker received a message from Baltimore containing the sad announcement of the death of Miss Mary Troy Kluttz, which occurred at 7:30 o'clock. About five weeks ago she became seriously ill, and a week later it was decided by the attending physicians that an operation was absolutely necessary for her recovery. She was taken from Washington to Baltimore, where an operation was performed for appendicitis. The very best surgical talent of the country performed the operation and since that time she had the best medical treatment. For the past two weeks she was considered almost out of danger until pneumonia developed and in her already weakened condition she could not withstand the attack of that dreaded disease. The remains will arrive in Salisbury to-morrow morning at 6:40 o'clock, accompanied by the grief-stricken members of the family, all of whom have been in Washington except Mr. T. F. Kluttz, Jr., and Mrs. W. H. Crawford.
Miss Mary Troy Kluttz was the third daughter of Hon. Theo. F. Kluttz, who now represents this district in Congress, and was 14 years of age. She was exceptionally bright and attractive and nature endowed her with a kind and amiable disposition. Her death brings pain to the hearts of her numerous friends, and the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family.
A message to Mr. C. R. Barker from Mr. Kluttz states that the funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternooon at 3:30 o'clock.
