RITES TUESDAY AT LUTHERAN CHURCH FOR MRS. KRUEGER
Mrs. Hattie Krueger, a resident of Phillips County for almost 50 years, passed away at about 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home here. She was 87 years of age and had been in failing health for the past 14 months.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke, with Rev. James Pomeroy as the officiating minister. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park.

As Hattie Margaret Post, the eldest of six children of Bernhard and Jennie Decker Post, Mrs. Krueger was born March 19, 1879, at Thuman, Germany. She came to the United States with her parents when she was about 7 years of age. The family settled on a farm near Pauline, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in infancy and was confirmed on April 7, 1895, at Glenvil, Nebraska.

On February 28, 1900, she was united in marriage with Charles F. Krueger of Blue Hill, Nebraska, with the ceremony being performed at Pauline, Nebraska. To this union seven children were born, six of whom survive.

In 1917, Mr. and Mrs. Krueger and their family moved to a farm southeast of Amherst. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger lived in that community most of the time until 1942, when they established their home in Holyoke.

Mrs. Krueger was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on November 14, 1955, one son, Clarence, on September 13, 1964, four grandsons, one great-granddaughter, her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Augusta (Mrs. Otto) Krueger, Margaret (Mrs. George) Brinkema, and Evelyn (Mrs. Raymond) Folker, all of Holyoke; three sons, Carl and Edward Krueger, both of Holyoke and Ben Krueger, Ogallala, Nebraska; one sister, Tena (Mrs. Henry) Thaden, Hastings Nebraska; one brother, John Post, Pauline, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
