Ruby and John ran Farran's Sporting Goods in Parsons, Ks. She operated the Western Union Office. The store was on north Central until the early 70's then urban renewal bought them out and they built a new store at 1122 E. Main. They lived out east of Parsons about a mile on the north side of the road and owned a cabin on Neosho River. Ruby loved her poodle "Charlie"
