Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon from the United Methodist church in Holyoke for Louis Krueger, 96, who passed away on January 7.

Mr. Krueger had made his home at Rose Arbor nursing home in Sterling since the death of his wife in 1960. He had been a farmer in the Amherst area since 1918.

Louis Krueger was born in Osage County, Mo., May 1, 1872. He was one of nine children born to Karl (sic) and Sophia Krueger.

Louis was married to Louisa Hendricks on April 14, 1891, in Bluehill, Nebr. Six children were born to this union. Two preceded him in death.

The Kruegers moved to the Amherst community in 1918 where they farmed for almost 50 years. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger lived in Brush and Sterling following their retirement.

Mr. Krueger was a member of the United Methodist church in Holyoke.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Selma Clark, Sterling; Mrs. James (Helen) Burns, Amherst, and Mrs. Alma Kent of Lawrence, Nebr.; one son, Oscar, Aurora; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Rev. Gerald Dingman, minister of the United Methodist church, Holyoke, officiated. Burial was made in Holyoke Memorial Park. Radford Funeral Chapel, Sterling, was in charge of arrangements.
