Samuel Addy

Samuel Addy, mention of whose death was made in last week's Express as occurring at his home in this city on Thursday morning, May 15, was a native of Ohio, born on June 20, 1843. He was married there on October 5, 1866 to Miss Sarah Jane Norris. He served two years in the civil war, being a member of Co. H, 51st Ohio infantry, and continued to reside in Ohio until 1881 when he moved with his family to Montgomery county, Iowa, locating at Climax, where they lived for twenty years. In 1910 they moved to Red Oak.

Mr. Addy is survived by his wife and their six children, who are Mrs. H. C. Wright, and O. N. Addy of West township, Mrs. A. G. Morris of Lawton, Okla., Mrs. F. O. Weed of Laredo, Mo., Mrs. Oscar Ahlstrand of Craig, Okla., and Mrs. Robert Kent of Kansas City, Mo.

The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, many friends being in attendance to pay their respects to their departed neighbor and esteemed citizen.
