The death of William Irish has brought sorrow to a great many of our people who were numbered among his friends. Ailing for several months he visited several hospitals in search of relief. Last week Thursday when it was realized that the end was near at hand he was brought home from St. Elizabeth's hospital at Wabasha. At 10 o'clock Sunday morning, July 7, he passed away.
William Dezell Irish was born in Plainview township July 9, 1872. His home was always been in Greenwood and Hoosier Ridge, where he has been engaged in farming. He was married to Alice Champineat (Champine) Wabasha June 11, 1910 and they have one son, Stacey at home.
Mr. Irish is survived by his wife and son, one brother, Arthur of Beaver, one sister, Jennie in California, two half brothers, Jim Baker of Beach, N.D., and Chas. Irish of Plainview. His family will miss him greatly because of his love and interest in his home. His friends will miss him because of his kindly interest in them. His kindly, friendly and neighborly interest in the things about him endeared him to a great circle of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Foley & Lindsey chapel, conducted by Rev. Ray Harkness. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
