Karene Wright Bowman, 89, of Glasgow, passed away on September 16, 2010, at Barren County Healthcare. Born in Monroe County, KY on September 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Samuel David and Mary Jane Wright. She was married to Howard N. Bowman for 59 years prior to his death in 2000. Mrs. Bowman was a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother, a former employee of Temple Hill School, National Store, and Sorensen's, a homemaker and an active member of Poplar Log Church of Christ.
She is survived by four daughters: Brenda Ezell, Jane Hammer (David), Lisa Russell (Rick), all of Glasgow, and Sharon Ridley (Steve) of Nolensville, TN., two sons: Howard Bowman, Jr. (Dianne), and Mark Bowman (Nancy) of Glasgow. Also surviving are ten beloved grandchildren: Mike Ezell, Nicole Morley, Julie Carson-Campbell, Jason Bowman, Stephanie Payne, Allison Hoggard, Jon David Hammer, Jennifer and Elliot Bowman, and Emily Dugard, a step-granddaughter Brooke Martin, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three loving grandchildren: Kim Ezell, Andrew and Susan Carson, a daughter-in-law, Vicki Bowman and by 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2:00pm at A. F. Crow Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
