KELTON, Texas - Garland C. Abernethy, 69, of Kelton died Friday, Dec. 27, in Kelton.
A retired farmer, he was a native of Hollis, Okla. and a resident of Wheeler County for most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Pearl; sons Dr. Kenneth C. Abernethy, DVM, of Borger, Keith Abernethy of Evanston, Wyo., and Kelly Abernethy of Glendale, Calif.; a sister, Colleen Mitchell of Lubbock; brothers Louis Abernethy of Kelton, Dink Abernethy of Lubbock and Yukie Abernethy of Wellington; and five grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church in Kelton. Burial followed in the Kelton cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Richardson Funeral Home of Shamrock.
