Glenn Edward Burgeson was the only child of Raymond Ernest Burgeson and Madeline Mary Frisby born on 05 Oct 1924 in Elgin, Illinois.

During World War II, Bergy served his country in the US Navy from Mar 1943 to Dec 1945. He received a honorable medical discharge after a near fatal gangrious appendicitis.

After being discharged, Bergy attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where he earned a degree in business courtesy of the GI Bill.

At the age of 25, he married Ann Elizabeth Quicksall, a fellow Knox College student, on 19 Aug 1950 at Beargrass Christian Church in Saint Matthews, Kentucky. They had four children together.

At the age of 64, he married fellow Knox grad and widower Eleanor Frances Smith Nelson on 23 Sep 1989 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina. They had no children together.

Bergy passed away on 03 Oct 2017 in Honeoye Falls, NY. His wishes were to be cremated and ashes laid to rest with both wives.
