Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Robert "Bob" Lee Burnett, 64, passed away Monday, Sept 13th, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born May 20, 1946 to Oscar and Opal Burnett. He was the second child of 4 and he was raised both in Pe Ell and Chehalis. From 1965 to 1969, he served proudly in the US Navy, stationed in San Diego. Bob was proud to serve his country and was a true patriot. Bob went on to work in the woods for a year and then to meat cutting school. He owned Burnett's Custom Meat Cutting for many years and people loved his smoked Kielbasa. He worked for Fuller's Market and Safeway for a total of 33 years. Bob never knew a stranger. He loved people and let his light shine for the Lord everywhere he went. He met his wife Janet while she waitressed at Evey's Cafe, his favorite hangout. They were married for 32 years. Bob's favorite things to do were clam digging and watching the Seahawks and the Mariners, but what he loved the most was spending time with his grandchildren who brought great joy into his life. He served as a board member for his church, New Harvest Assembly of God. He loved his church family and had an amazing heart for people.
His memory will be celebrated by his wife Janet Burnett; daughter Haley (Chad) Sahlin; sons Chad (Nicole) Burnett and Braden Burnett; grandchildren Lane Sahlin, Avery Sahlin, Brianna Burnett, and Blake Burnett; brother Brad (Cheryl) Rhodes and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Burnett, mother Opal Rhodes, brothers Barton Burnett and Bill Burnett as well as his step-father Wilson Rhodes.
