With Orson S. Pearce passes another of those substantial respected citizens who have make Kendall county what it is and who have kept the standard of the community on the high plane which they have achieved through their efforts. Mr. Pearce was a quiet unassuming gentleman. He made friends and held them being widely known in Oswego and Kendall townships where he spent practically all his life. As a farmer, he was one of the best and relinquished the active management to his son, Gerald, only when ill health broke in on an active life.
Orson S. Pearce was born in Oswego July 19, 1848 and died at his home in Kendall township, "Maplewood Farm," May 29, 1922. His marriage to Miss Fannie A. Severance was solemnized on March 27, 1879, and the widow with their son, Gerald H. Pearce, survive with the one granddaughter, Elnora. Mr. Pearce also leaves four sisters to mourn his death, Mrs. C.I. Smith and Mrs. L.P Voss of Oswego, and Mrs. Emma Van Doozer and Mrs. Edward Rang of Aurora. The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon from the home with interment in the Pearce family cemetery at Oswego.
