Your correspondent received a letter a few days since, telling of the death of our old friend and neighbor, Mr. Daniel Leedy, who departed this life August 9th at his home in Haven, North Dakota. Mr. Leedy was a resident of this place for a number of years, and at one time was proprietor of the old Pella mill. He had many friends here who will be pained to hear of his death. A correspondent of a local paper in Haven, North Dakota has the following to say of his death: "The sad news of the death of Mr. Leedy after an illness of a few weeks, ending in a stroke of paralysis, following which he failed rapidly, was announced in this neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Leedy was born in Wabash Co., Indiana, August 20, 1850, and died Aug. 9, 1904, aged 53 years, 11 months and 19 days. Mr. Leedy was married three times; the first to Indus Rose, on April 13m 1876, who with her two children, precedes him to the other world, to Fannie L. Primm on October 8, 1884, whose two children survive him; to Sarah V.Smith on February 5, 1894, and to this union was born five children, who all precede him. He lived an earnest Christian life and his greatest study was the Word of God, that he might conform his life wholly to the spirit of it teachings. His success in so doing will long be an inspiration to his surviving wife and two daughters. He died, resting in God and His promises, after an illness of about two months, patiently borne. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones who have lost a kind and loving husband and father:.
