daughter of Jesse and Bertha Coberley, Wife of Lewis Charles until his passing then became Mrs. Ralph Fast

Edith and Lewis Charles were the parents of:

Irene, Jesse, John, Bill, Jim, Letha ~ Born an Angel and Richard

My Grandma was a very special lady who could make you feel special just by being in the room with her, she would tell me stories about my dad when i was growing up, she told me once that she knew when my came over to thier house she knew My Mom and Dad would marry. Grandma loved to ride roller coasters, and I think that is were my love of the ride come from.

Grandma always told me I was her favorite, and I am sure she told many of the other grandchildren the same things, I stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Ralph in the summer of 1977, although I never did learn how to milk a cow (city girl) I love love being out in the open air with nothing but fields as far as the eye could see.

She and Grandpa Ralph spoiled me a lot that summer, I also started going to senior citizens dances with them, now i was just 15 they were seniors but, i got to go too, oh how i loved to dance, it was so much fun, of course all of the farming and housekeeping had to be done before there was any talk of dancing. it always managed to get done on time and off to the dances we would go.

A few years ago when grandma was in a nursing home, and was still able to talk, I was here visiting and i noticed she kept standing in front of me like she did not want me to leave her or she was protecting me.

A couple of years after that we here to stay and grandma was in another nursing home, everyone told me she was bad just not to go and get myself all upset over her not knowing who i was, I just said its ok she doesn't know who i am i know her, when i walked into the room at first i almost did not know her, her hair was very unkept. and she always like to have it at least pulled back it not completed cover in a scarf. I picked up a comb and said to her grandma lets get your hair brushed, You know you used to brush my hair for hours and hours and now i get to brush yours, I will tell everyone that i know, though she couldn't talk to me, and say my name, her eyes were focus right on me and the look in them told me she knew who i was, she was holding on to one my hands by that time.

Yes, I miss my Grandma very very much, It is very much ok if you would like to copy and paste this post to your family tree the only thing I ask is that you post this note as well, so they whoever reads it will know that this is my special memories not whoever copies it thank you so much Laura Charles Granddaughter of Edith
