Confederate Historian. A veteran of the Confederate Army during the Civil War, he wrote several books including "Campaigns of the Army of Northern Virginia," "The Wilderness Campaign," and "Battles of Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville, Virginia." He also founded the Eagle Shoe Company in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was one of the three war commissioners who mapped out the Fredericksburg battlefields for the National Park Service.
