Rudy was born in a US Naval hospital in Cavite City, Philippine Islands on June 27, 1908. He was the son of Fredrick Duncan and Mederios Calnente Duncan.

He came to the mainland USA in 1915 and grew up in Oakland, Calif. In 1925, he enlisted in the Navy and spent his four year "hitch" in Pearl Harbor. In 1930 he married his first wife, Florence Ploof. They were married for 61 years. Florence passed away in 1991.

Rudy is survived by his present wife, Barbara; his daughter, Barbara Julian; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruthann Bodiford.

Rudy will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and piano player. He donated his time to nursing homes, the Senior Center, and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Rudy always rose to the top of whatever group or organization that he joined. He was a past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, past Big Sir of Branch 29, Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and past Master of the Grange.

In June of this year, Rudy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by over 100 of his closest friends and relatives.
