Funeral services for Erma Louise Oden, 74, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jimmy Don Bennett, Rev. Paul Warren, Rev. Matthew Warren and Rev. Dusty Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.

Oden died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Sweetwater. She was a member of Faith Harvest Pentecostal Church. Oden had worked at the Village bakery and at Hatahoe as a cook. She was a life-long resident of Sweetwater and Nolan County.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Joyce Hoover and husband Bobby of Sweetwater and Shelia Faye Warren and husband Paul of Stanley, La.; one brother, Roy Ussery of Kansas; six grandchildren, Jimmy Don Bennett and wife Lesley of Sweetwater, Matthew Warren and wife Dawn of Leesville, La., Bryan Hoover of Sweetwater, Dusty Warren and wife Dawn of Shreveport, La., Michael Hoover and wife Joliene of Great Falls, Mont. and Amanda Caston and husband Wesley of Stanley, La.; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ethel Ussery; and an infant son, Jimmy Don Oden on March 26, 1953.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Caston, Bryan Hoover, Reese Fields, Dewayne Oden, Chris Jones and Edward Allison.
