George Black, 76, of Route 2, Athens, died Sunday at the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at the Round Island Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with McConnell Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Black was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertie Black; seven daughters, Mrs. Hazel Tucker of Trinity, Mrs. Catherine Stockdale of Florida and Mrs. Sherry Scruggs, Mrs. Arlene Embody, Mrs. Myrtle Russell, Mrs. Ruby Naylor, and Mrs. Edith Birdwell, all of Athens; four sons, J. B. Black, J. T. Black, Dudley Black and Leon Black, all of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Maudie Byrd and Mrs. Iva Byrd, both of Decatur; 40 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
