Carl was the second of 3 children born to Demas A and Mary M (Gillard) Hart.
He married Blanche Bell Weatherly on August 11, 1907 in Hatfield (Pipestone), MN. They had 5 children: Austin Burdette Allen, Mertella, Avis Ethelen, Fern Delite, and Mildred Blanche.
Carl and Blanche divorced after Carl jumped onto a train, taking the eldest son, Austin, with him. They never returned to the family in MN.
